What CSIR Net Life Science Exam pattern Change In 2021-2022
- Exam Pattern
An exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship (“JRF”) and Eligibility for Lectureship is a Singe Paper Test having Mulitple Choice Questions (MCQs).
With a maximum mark of 200, the question paper is divided into three parts:
- Part ‘A’
This part consists of 20 questions related to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude, which are two marks each. Since the candidates must answer any 15 questions, the total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.
- Part ‘B’
This part consists of 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) related to general topics given in the syllabus, which are of two marks each. Since candidates must answer any 35 questions, the total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.
- Part ‘C’
This part consists of 75 questions designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and application of scientific concepts. In the analytical questions, candidates are expected to apply their scientific knowledge to solve the scientific problem. Since candidates are required to answer any 25 questions, and any question is four marks, the total marks allocated to this shall be 100 out of 200.
Note: There will be a negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.
- Exam Duration: Aspirants get 3 hours to complete the exam.
- Exam Dates: As per the public note dated September 3, 2021, the National Testing Agency had decided to reschedule the exam for UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 from October 17 to October 25, 2021, but now the exam has been postponed, and the subsequent dates will be announced soon.
